1) Can I view the property?
Yes- Please fill in the Request Viewing form (see How to Apply section).
2) How much deposit do I need to pay?
You’ll be required to pay a deposit equal to 5 weeks rent upfront when you sign your contract.
3) How do I pay my rent?
Rent is paid in 3 equal instalments dated to coincide with your student loan dates.
4) What happens if I can’t pay my rent?
We hope that you never find yourself in a situation where you can’t pay your rent. However, we know that this does sometimes happen. If the worst happens and you can’t pay, your guarantor would be legally responsible for paying your rent.
5) What’s included in my rent?
As standard your rent includes access to your student home including your bedroom, communal areas and outdoor space. Also included as standard is SKY TV and Unlimited broadband. If you wish you can decide to pay extra each month as part of our All Inclusive packages, all your bills will then be included as well. Just choose a property from our Browse Our Homes section, choose a room on the right hand side of the page and add any extras you wish included in the rent.
6) What if I drop out of my studies?
Jigsaw Student letting is designed with students in mind. However, there may be occasions when we would allow you to continue staying in your accommodation if you drop out of your studies. If you are going to be leaving Bangor completely you must notify us . You and your guarantor will remain responsible for the rent until a replacement tenant can be found.
7) I need a room immediately, can you help?
Yes – We will do our best to find you a room within one of our properties straight away. Please contact us by email or phone and we’ll help you find a property or room.
8) Who deals with maintenance and general repairs?
Jigsaw Student Letting are completely responsible for all the maintenance and repairs on the property. Please see the section Request a maintenance visit to arrange help with this. Any damage to the property caused by the students will be liable for an additional charge.
9) How do I contact someone to deal with emergencies?

10) Does the property have a Landlord safety certificate for gas boilers and fires?
Yes – All our properties are up to date with all the safety certificates needed to rent accommodation out. We are happy to show you these certificates upon request.
11) Does the property have a smoke alarm and who is responsible for changing the batteries?
Yes -All properties have fire alarm systems, and are regularly maintained. There is a hard wired system in all communal areas and a further independent smoke alarm in every bedroom.It is the responsibility of the house tenant to inform us if the battery needs changing (regular bleeping sound), and we will come and do it ourselves.
12) Does the property have SKY, Freeview or other TV networks available?
All Jigsaw Student Letting properties have SKY as standard.
13) How do I claim back my deposit?
All deposit money is kept in accordance with the government’s Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme. This means that your deposit will be kept safe in a government-backed tenancy deposit scheme. As long as the property has not been damaged as per the contract, we will refund your deposit within 14 days of the end of your tenancy
14) What insurance do I need?
Jigsaw Student Letting will insure the property and our contents. You may however want to take out additional insurance to cover your own belongings . You could consider having a shared contents insurance policy which covers all students in the house.
15) Does my room have an individual lock?
All bedrooms have their own individual locks, to help you feel safe at night and when you’re away from your property.
